Insulation project aqueduct of Roquefavour

The aqueduct of Roquefavour is the longest stone aqueduct of the world. Its length is 400 m and its height 80 m. Built in 1842, it is still active and allows the water from the "Canal de Marseille" to cross over l'Arc.

The highest galery of the aqueduct host a tube of 2.2 m diameter. The goal for our customer Europiso was to fill the gap between the square part of the aqueduct and the round section of the tube, in order to insure a good insulation, prevent water leakages and not adding too much overweight on the structure.

A tailor-made solution by the use of a small polyurethane machine capable to move on the aqueduct, has answered to the challenge by injecting 20 tons of polyurethane foam of Resina, system Resifoam AL 757/10. All this with an excellent flatness that maintain the slope of the aqueduct.
